Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) of chicken (thighs, drumsticks, or breasts)
  • 1 cup (240 mL) of plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons (30 mL) of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of turmeric
  • Salt to taste

Cooking Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, garam masala, chili powder, ginger, garlic, and turmeric.
  • Add the chicken to the bowl and mix until the chicken is evenly coated with the marinade.
  • Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 200?C (400?F).
  • Line a baking sheet with foil and place the chicken on the sheet.
  • Bake the chicken for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Serve the tandoori chicken with rice and naan bread.
