Ingredients
- 1 kg (2.2 lb) of chicken (thighs, drumsticks, or breasts)
- 1 cup (240 mL) of plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons (30 mL) of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of garam masala
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of chili powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of turmeric
- Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, garam masala, chili powder, ginger, garlic, and turmeric.
- Add the chicken to the bowl and mix until the chicken is evenly coated with the marinade.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 200?C (400?F).
- Line a baking sheet with foil and place the chicken on the sheet.
- Bake the chicken for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Serve the tandoori chicken with rice and naan bread.
