Ingredients
- 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon (5g) baking soda
- 1 teaspoon (5g) ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon (5g) ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5g) salt
- 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup (60ml) molasses
Cooking Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and molasses until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch (2.5cm) balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
- Allow to cool before serving.
