A rich, creamy ice cream with chunks of homemade chocolate chip cookie dough
I first had this ice cream at a local ice cream shop and it was love at first bite. The smooth, creamy ice cream had the perfect balance of sweetness and richness, and the chunks of homemade chocolate chip cookie dough were the perfect addition. I knew I had to recreate it at home, and after a few trial and errors I finally found the perfect recipe. Now I make it for all of my family gatherings and it's always a hit!

Ingredients
- 2 cups (500 mL) heavy cream
- 1 cup (250 mL) whole milk
- 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) salt
- 1 teaspoon (5 mL) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) cookie dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) mini chocolate chips
Cooking Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- When the ice cream is almost finished churning, add the cookie dough and chocolate chips and let churn for an additional minute.
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
